Yourlink is a telecommunications provider, which serves over three hundred communities in Saskatchewan, according to their website. They also state that they currently have 11,000 subscribers.Yourlink has two main towers that provide the wireless Internet service.
One is in Plunket and the other is in Bradwell. The one is Plunkett has a 32.77 km range while the one in Bradwell has a 23.66 km range.
In our review of Yourlink, we will examine the company’s Internet plans, including the pricing and features, and see how they stack up with Gonevoip's top three Canadian
Internet service providers in terms of price, features and reliability.
Yourlink.ca offers three basic residential wireless Internet packages: the Home Basic, the Home 5, and the Home 10. The Home Basic will come in at the cost of $56.99 per month and includes download
speeds of up to 2 Mbps and upload speeds 256 Kbps.
The Home 5, which is listed as their most popular plan, comes in at $79.99 per month and comes with download speeds of up to 5 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Mbps upload speeds. The Home 10 is not actually available as of yet. According to their website, this plan is coming in 2016. This plan offers download speeds of up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 2 Mbps.
All of Yourlink.ca’s plans have no data usage caps, no overage charges and come with five email accounts. If you signup on a three-year contract, then the installation is free. On a one-year contract, the installation is $50. With no contract, the installation goes up to $150. Regardless of whether you sign a contract or not, there is a one-time $99 activation fee on all new Yourlink Internet service accounts.
There is also a fee for the modems. If you are purchasing the modem, it is an additional $199 on a no-contract signup, or $50 on a one-year term. On a three-year contract, the modem is free. If you are renting the modem, it is $19.99 per month with no contract, $10 a month on a one-year term or free on a three-year contract. Any modem purchase comes with a one-year warranty.
Yourlink has a technical support team available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends.
In our review of Yourlink, we like that all of their costs are stated clearly on their website. There are no surprises; however, these costs are considerable unless you are choosing the three-year contract option. Even in that scenario, the actual price of the plans are considerably more expensive than companies such as Yak or Worldline. We love that there is truly no limits on Internet usage and no throttling of download speeds. Overall, if you are in the areas that they serve, they are worth considering depending on whether any of Gonevoips top Internet providers serve your area.
