Review from pissedconsumer.comI have an account with Skype so that I can call phones in Denmark its an unlimited call by the month. The system was great up until Christmas and then it doesn_t work any more. I keep getting busy signals when I try to call a phone in Denmark so I tried to get in contact with Skype to solve the problem. First of I had a lot of problems finding a place to contact Skype and when I finally found them it seems like they want me to pay them $ 35 for solving my problem. How in the world do they see me paying them for making something work that I already pay for? Before I could even talk to someone I needed to give them my credit card number and so on and if I was not satisfied I may get my money back. I might have to go to Face time now and cancel my account with Skype. |

Review from pissedconsumer.comSince Skype came with the new version I can_t login. I deleted an old email that I had something like 6 years ago, added my new email (6 years ago) but once that the new version came they decided to get my old email that i dont have any access back. Since then I cant login to my account, I have credit and all my clients inside. Tried to contact their service but I just cant. Since I am not in US I cant even access the chat option. Thats what I wrote them one month ago and of course didnt receive any answer: Hi, I am trying to access my account for one month and I cant, somehow my password is not working anymore, the message that I received is that I need to wait 30 days, I use Skype for work and I cant wait 30 days. More than it I have credit inside so I feel like you are trying to take my money from me. Tried to contact you by phone but "Alex" the person that was talking to me said that is nothing to do and hanged up without letting me explain. My security question is ??????????????? so I dont have how to answer it. the email that was registered is nicole@4xp.com, I deleted this email from my account and this email doesnt exist since 2012. I cant answer the questions since I dont know, I dont know what is the credit card inside since I have 6 different credit card, I dont know what were the last 2 numbers that I called since I called clients and I saved the numbers just on Skype,I dont know what to do anymore but I need my account back since I use it for work and for now I am loosing money since all my contacts are inside my account. Please HELP ME! |

Review from pissedconsumer.comThey froze my account after charging me $75 for calls to South Africa that I never made. Getting the account reopened was a nightmare. In addition, my Microsoft account was screwed up in the process. They created more problems than they solved, but solutions did not... |

Review from pissedconsumer.comSkype deactivated my credit, then gave that credit to a ghost account, which they cannot get the money back from and/or give me a refund. After complaining to customer service, they told me as more than 6 months ago they couldn_t give me a refund and wouldn_t be able to give the Skype credit to the account I originally was using. Why I am not sure that a large company like Skype could not issue a refund of MY MONEY is beyond me. The customer service sounded like trained monkeys who were unable to think outside of the guidelines and not willing to put any effort in resolving my issue. I had to contact several people and waste several hours of my time. While the money wasn_t a great amount, I don_t see why Sykpe should get to steal my money and refuse to give me a refund. I have now removed the application, and will next see if my company will remove Skype for business as I want nothing to do with this terrible company. |

Review from pissedconsumer.comI neede Skype to talk to my daughter at home without a phone there. I couldn_t hear her at all. Then when I tried calling back it kept hanging up. I was left scared for her safety. My entire family will be deleting Skype from all our devices. There are more reliable messengers. I_ll never go through that again. In fact I_ll be considering alternatives to all my microsoft products. This is not the first or even tenth time they frustrated me. But this time could have cost my child her life. Skype sucks and no one should use it. |

Skype was first released in 2003; changing the voice over IP landscape ever since. By the time Microsoft bought it had grown to have more than 600 million users supporting multiple platforms. Through 2013 Microsoft has planned to phase out their own Windows Live Messenger and replace it with Skype. While by no means is a Phone Replacement it does work quite well as a Home Phone Alternative addition. Similarly, as the microwave oven does not replace a traditional stove oven.
This may be the ideal extra line for being connected with family overseas, home office line or the student phone line, companion. There are cordless phones that are Skype-ready or you can buy the adapter (Skype's ATA). Plans vary, you can get from unlimited Canada/US calling to 400 minutes international calling to great low rates by buying credits.
Always skype to skype calls are free + Skype is supported in multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, Blackberry & Smart TVs) making it a very appealing choice due to the fact most people nowadays connects to the net in more than one form.
While Skype is one of instant message and voice-calling dialer favorites apps for many; the market has certainly evolved. There are many other and new providers such as Rebtel that may offer a cheaper and more complete solutions for your international calling needs.
