The netTALK DUO II product is End-of-Life, replaced by netTALK CONNECT ezLINQ.

netTalk is HQ in Miami, FL. Was founded in 2008. As with other VoIP in-a-Box solutions you have to pay the cost of the ATA and yearly service up-front. netTalk flagship product is netTalk DUO, which has in a very portable design.

netTalk comes with the most common features found in VoIP Home Phone providers, such as:

  • Caller ID,
  • Call forwarding,
  • Unlimited Canada/US calling

All packed at a very reasonable price.  One of the drawbacks of netTalk is that if you have an issue with the ATA you'll likely have to buy a new one from the same vendor - this is the same as with Ooma or MagicJack.

At gonevoip.ca we like netTalk DUO and DUO II (cheaper version) as these have a very portable Home Phone design, simplicity, overall good quality and also have to factor that netTALK has made an effort and commitment to Canada with a Canadian website.

Yes phone numbers can be ported to Nettalk. I ported my personal number more than 5 years ago when I switched.

Hello, According to the Nettalk.ca website, your number cannot be ported with them. However, check out VoIP Much, they can port your Hull, QC number and are a Canadian company - https://www.gonevoip.ca/voip-much-phone-company-residential-review

2016 The Year in Review

It is that magical time of the year when one can look back at the year from the rearview mirror. We started 2016 with a netTALK & Iristel dispute that left thousands of Canadian customers stranded. Then later in the year, the CRTC mandated a skinny TV package,  for $25. In theory, sounds nice, in practicality impact of such a policy is unknown and may be able to measure in a couple of years. CCTS reported Telecom complaints were down
