BEST Phone Service I've ever used!I've had VOIPO for at least a couple of months now and I LOVE it. I wanted to wait sometime before I wrote a review to make sure there weren't any glitches, but I'm constantly on the phone and the reliability of using VOIPO is just as good, if not better, like Rogers. My bill was way too high even when I had a bundled plan. Now with VOIPO, my home phone is coming to well under $15 / month! I don't get why it took me so long to switch.. especially when the savings are now going straight into my shopping budget :). And if you're reluctant about the VOIP technology, the quality is just amazing. Trust me. The switch was so easy and no more contracts to worry about!! And finally, customer service isn't a headache anymore. It was the first time ever I didn't have to wait 30 mins for someone to speak with me AND they actually help you!!!! Really really impressed!!Reply from: Prima October 1, 2022 If the switch was so easy for you....Why did you need to contact Customer Service. Do they use Chat Bots or can I speak to a live representative?? I am presently searching online for a VoIP service to replace my home landline. |

VOIPo was established in the US in 2006. Their HQ is in Irvine, California. The company’s tag phrase is “the likable phone company”.
VOIPo’s service covers the 48 contiguous states and the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Manitoba. Note prices are in USD with the exact rate fluctuating dependent on currency rates at the time of order.
VOIPo offers unlimited with over forty features included at $15.00 monthly. The day we verified on to their website, VOIPo promotes a daily special offer for a two-year package at $149 USD / $184 CAD; which is $6.21 USD or CAD $7.70/monthly. To that add an additional $36 USD in taxes and regulatory fees. Considering their one year plan also comes to $185 USD ($12.41 USD monthly), this is a truly exceptional value. Neither the two-year nor the one-year plan is contract-based, as you only make one lump sum payment.
This two-year daily special is comparable to Phone Power’s two years residential VOIP plan, although you have to pay the additional taxes for the second year with Phone Power. And again, the two-year offer was just a daily special which expired at midnight. It is unclear how often they offer daily plans but checking the next day the special was extended for an additional day. Two days later - still there as well.
Included in both the $15 monthly plan or the yearly plans are unlimited US/Canada calling, a 30 Day Money-back Guarantee, caller ID (with name), call waiting, portable VOIP devices, softphone access, three-way calling, call forwarding, call blocking, advanced voicemail, voicemail notification by email and SMS, unlimited speed dial, a free inbound SIP address and do not disturb options.
They also allow 60 minutes of free international calls monthly and free use of their equipment including a telephone adapter and softphone solution. VOIPo makes no claims with regards to the privacy of voice packets transmitted over public networks.
In regards to any of their unlimited services such as unlimited US/Canada calling the service is actually capped at the average usage parameters which are set to 5,000 minutes per month. Anything beyond 5,000 minutes is billed at 1.9 cents per minute.
A nice bonus is that both the Residential VOIP and Small Business VOIP services are exactly the same, while most companies offer completely separated and much more complicated business plans.
Their support system offers phone support, email support and live chat support, with email support being the recommended avenue to contact them. Contacting them by email I received a response within an hour on the weekend. Phone and Chat service is only available from 8am – 6 pm (Pacific) on Mondays through Fridays.
VOIPo overall seems to be an excellent choice for ResidentialVOIP in line with the numerous features which come with their package. The monthly plan at $15 is pricey but there are no contract or setup costs. If purchasing the plan by the year, the price is very good with a $12.41 monthly average. If you can take advantage of their special two-year rate at a $6.21USD ($7.70 CAD) monthly average, you have a winner!
