Primus Reviews and Plans

Distributel acquired Primus on January of 2021.
Primus Canada was founded back originally as Primus Telecommunications Group Incorporated in 1994 but entered the Canadian market in 1997 and has managed to expand its reach all across Canada ever since then. Primus has acquired over 650 employees during the course of this period and is currently the largest alternative telecommunications provider in the entirety of Canada. The head office of Primus is located at 5343 Dundas St.W, Suite 400, Etobicoke, Ontario. Primus has built a strong network infrastructure across Canada to better provide customers with quality service.
Primus offers a Hosted PBX business phone system that includes a wide variety of features. They offer this bundle at a price of $21.95 per month. This plan comes with a very long list of features that are more often than not required by business owners. It was rather disappointing however to find that fax to email service was not provided in this list of features. RingCentral’s business solution plan of $19.99 per month is perhaps the best example of what a service provider should do in terms of features and pricing, and Primus is nowhere near that!
Not only was there a lack of a fax to email service, but they're also wasn’t the slightest mention of smartphone integration or a smartphone app. This is a huge upset for business owners who are constantly on the move and need to remain in steady contact with their coworkers.
The international calling rates of Primus may offer some reprieve from the otherwise abysmal services put forward so far. The International calling rate to the Philippines whilst using Primus is $0.23 per minute! Yak offers an international calling rate of $0.15 per minute to call the Philippines. This eight-cent difference is certainly a lot and once again, Primus seems to be trying to take more than its keep!
Upon talking to a sales representative of Primus while trying to gain more information, the most common answers we found were “I do not know” and “whatever is on the website, is what it is”. If that is all it is then it does fall short by a hefty margin.
Overall Primus does not leave a lasting impression on us. BBB reviews and complaints have riddled this provider on a consistent basis. Our own personal experience with Primus has not been that great either, with constant service downtimes, and a very casual approach to finding solutions to these problems.

Canada VoIP Market Trends 2019-2024
The communications continue to evolve, and as such so does the adoption of VoIP (Voice over IP). On one side you have the traditional Telecom providers, think Rogers or Bell. With predatory contracts and billing practices that defy
