Good technical supportCustomer service is below average, but considering the price it's reasonable.
Technical support is excellent. They try everything they can to solve your problem. I have been with them for over 1 year and I had issues with my connection only 2 times. They were able to solve it the next day. I also had a problem it my IPTV one day and the technical support helped me solve the problem from beginning to end.
The price should be cheaper considering the customer service quality and the seize of the company. I am really not satisfied with the price I am paying. 40$ for 10Mbps download speed is overpriced.

Mektel is a rather young telecommunications provider having only been founded 6 years ago back in 2009. Nonetheless Mektel has managed to climb the ladder quickly and is now offering a very wide array of services to its customers. The services that Mektel is offering include IT solutions such as cabling, telecom and telephony, IT training. Mektel also offers security solutions for homes such as a 24 hour surveillance system. Regardless of the services being offered, our prime focus is on the internet plan that Mektel has to offer for their residential users. Mektel has not provided much information about their history or headquarters on their website, nonetheless, we will now review one of the bread and butter internet plans that Mektel offers to its residential users!
Mektel offers a basic residential plan which comes with download speeds of up 5 mbps, and has unlimited bandwidth usage. Before we continue on to the pricing of this plan, we need to understand why unlimited bandwidth is not right for everyone. Many customers are fooled into opting for unlimited plans with prices thinking they won’t have to deal with overage charges. However, the customer doesn’t understand that in many cases they don’t even need an unlimited plan; the average household usage in Canada is 75 gigs per month. The plan Mektel is offering costs a total of $34.95 per month. Now the pricing on this plan is a bit too steep when compared to other providers, such as Heronet which offers a faster connection of 30 mbps download speeds at an unlimited bandwidth for only $52.88 per month!
Mektel uses a baiting tactic to coax customers into opting into a contractual agreement. If a customer wants to pay $34.95 per month, they would have to enter into a yearlong agreement. An activation fee of $75.00 applies to customers, and a cable modem is included which costs the customer an extra 3 dollars per month. No mention was made of being able to use your own device. The only upside to all of this would be the fact that there is no setup fee for the service!
Mektel is doing too many wrong things at once in terms of bad pricing, baiting tactics, and forcing customers to pay rent for a modem. Mektel needs to go back to the drawing boards, and come up with a plan that is more appealing to customers in terms of pricing, and is also more competitive in the telecommunications market today, because at this current state, many providers can easily trample over what Mektel is offering!
