Vitelity Reviews and Plans
|Long Distance Rates
Vitelity is a Telecom Service Provider, established in 2003 and HQ in Englewood, CO. Vitelity specializes in wholesale of VoIP services. Thus they have catered their offering for a technically savvy audience. Similar to Voip.ms one can bring his own ATA and build their calling plan and add or remove features as required. Similarly with Voip.ms, one has to be careful cause services and fees do tend to pile up. There are a number of basic features that do come with, such as voicemail & SMS text messaging.
While Vitelity claims there is no setup fee what they ask for is for a $35 deposit, which is accredited to the account right away. Also, with any build your own service provider, you have to add a $1.49 for E911. If you want to port your number, it is supported but differently, than for instance Call Centric in where is free or Phone Power (also free porting) you'll have to pay $18. Although those $18 are still cheaper than other providers such as Fongo or Talkit charge ($25) the fact the porting is not free at this time age is a bit over-taxing.
The jewel feature Vitelity has is SMS Texting and SMS short-code. The SMS Texting allows to interact with messaging apps and the short-code allows to program automated responses or trigger certain actions. Not something one may need it for a Home Phone, but a cool feature nonetheless.
In all for the technical person, Vitelity is a good option to consider, though in the same category may find Call Centric has a more robust overall solution/offering.
