Vianet Reviews and Plans

Vianet is an Internet and VOIP service provider HQ in Sudbury, Ontario. Vianet started operation back in 1995. A local veteran in the telecommunication services with twenty plus years of experience. Recently Vianet also added video offerings.

Vianet VoIP Home Phone services offer is a set of basic VOIP features such as Caller ID, 3-Way Calling and Voicemail to Email.  There's an option to include Long Distance plans; though these could add up rather quickly and are on the expensive side.

At the present time, Vianet does provide their own Adapter (ATA), we found no mention of supporting BYOD. Also has a rather expensive activation fee applies.

Vianet's Home phone does not have apps for smartphones or desktop. Vianet monthly pricing for the Home Phone is presented in tow tiers, for VIaneInternetrnet customers is $12.50 monthly and for everyone else using other Internet provider is $17.50. The North America calling plan is $19.99 pr month.

For the reasons shown above Vianet does represent an alternative if looking to switch from the traditional telco such as Rogers, Cogeco or Bell. Though there are many other Home Phone Providers such as Phone Power or 1-VoIP which may be better, with more features, including North America Calling and are all-around generally priced lower. If a no-frills offering will do then Talkit is an option to consider too.
