Telehop Reviews and Plans

Telehop was founded in 1993 as a Telecommunications Corporation meant to provide connectivity throughout Ontario. Since then they have mustered up a large number of clientele and various types of services. They offer residential VoIP solutions, business VoIP services, and long-distance plans as well. They also provide a variety of different long distance plans that are tailored to meet the specific needs of the diverse people living in Canada. Situated in Ontario the headquarters of Telehop can be found at 1039 McNicoll Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, M1W 3W6. Let us now, however, review one of Telehop’s bread and butter long distance plans to gauge their commitment to the trade.

Telehop offers an unlimited global long distance plan that comes with a price tag of $29.99 per month. Even though it is advertised as a global plan you can only make calls to a bit over 40 countries throughout the globe. Furthermore, the plan is not truly unlimited; the fair usage policy of Telehop mentions that only 3,500 minutes are allocated for long-distance calling, and in some cases, mobile phone numbers are subject to per-minute charges. The pricing of this plan, however, is quite spot on when compared to other strong long distance providers. PhonePower offers an unlimited global long-distance plan which can allow you to call 60 different countries for the less as this Telehop plan.

Another one of Telehop’s international plans – the $9.99 per month, but once again these are subject to a 1,100 minutes limit. Countries include the US, Canada, and the UK. Though, this plan is easily thwarted by PhonePower’s bread and butter residential plan which allows unlimited North America calling for only $5.95 per month.

Now if you do not want to opt into the long-distance plan Telehop does offer long-distance services with their residential plans. The rates however per country are what we would like to put to the test. Telehop implements a charge of 5.7 cents per minute when making international calls to Pakistan, which in all honesty is a great rate. However, there are providers who do better than Telehop such as PhonePower which implements a charge of only 3.2 cents per minute when placing international calls to Pakistan.

Telehop does provide great rates and offers quality service considering the unlimited aspect of their plans. However, they don’t take the extra step that other prominent providers do to provide their customers with the best possible rates available.
