TekCorner is a Canadian telecommunications company which provides multiple services including International TV, Internet, and phone services.

TekCorner has headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. The company was established in 2008 and advertises itself as the first company “to offer these services with more flexibility, choice, and features at a much lower price compared to the ones offered by the major service providers”. They also state that they are “The only Canadian company who offer these four innovative services including Canadian TV & World TV.”

In our review of Tekcorner, we will focus on their home phone VOIP service and see how it compares with some of GoneVoip’s top home phone providers.

Tekcorner offers two home phone packages which are called Tekcorner Home Phone Systems. The first package offered by TekCorner comes in at aa very reasonable $9.99 per month.

The Unlimited Canada package is the first plan offered and comes in at $9.99 per month. It features, as the name suggests, unlimited Canadian calling. In addition, it also comes with a free Canadian local number, call waiting, caller ID, voicemail, 911 service, and all calls to the US for $0.02 per minute. That is however the extent of it. There are no additional features.

The Unlimited Canada/US package comes in at $14.99 per month and is exactly the same as the previous plan except that included in the unlimited calling is both Canada and the US.

In order to sign up, you need to purchase a phone adapter for $49.99. If you want to keep your same phone number, there is a $15 charge. There are no contracts to sign in order to sign up.

There is no reference to whether there is any installation fee or any fees beyond what is listed. It also does not state which provinces they service.

In our review of Tekcorner, we came away well impressed with the pricing of their plans but with the reasonable cost comes a very limited number of features.

Both plans are somewhat inexpensive or comparable of the range of the top Gonevoip companies.

The pricing of calls to the US is also quite reasonable in the Unlimited Canadian package.

While their phone package is reasonable, the focus of the website is definitely more towards the television packages they offer, and the phone service is more of an afterthought.

We always suggest finding companies which specialize in the service you are seeking. Having said that, if you don’t mind the lack of features, and you only need service in Canada, then the $9.99 cost is worth considering.
