Smart Telecom Reviews and Plans

Smart Telecom is a relatively young Telecom Provider with Head Offices in Toronto, Ontario. Smart Telecom was established in 2009 as a VoIP (voice-over IP) Home Phone and long-distance provider. Though three years later, in 2012, Smart Telecom decided to jump in internet services.

Smart Telecom offers two Home Phone plans;

1. Canada Unlimited Calling at $9.99 per month
2. Canada & USA Unlimited Calling at $14.99 per month

That is as much as we could gather. Considering Smart Telecom started as a Home Phone provider is rather baffling there are no details on the inclusion of advanced features. All Smart Telecom website says is that "Features are included".

In this Smart Telecom review, we will focus on the Canada & USA Unlimited Calling plan. This plan is $10 more expensive, per month, than VoIP Much similar plan. Also, we need to include the other fees Smart Telecom is charging. If you'd like to keep the existing phone number that will set you back $24.99. Since we are talking of VoIP, voice-over IP, you do need to have an ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) box, which Smart Telecom will sell you one pre-configured for $74.99. Unfortunately, Smart Telecom decided to not support BYOD (bring your own device).

In closing this Smart Telecom Home Phone review we can say the service, monthly pricing and lack of descriptive features make this a very forgettable offer.  Simply put there is nothing in the Smart Telecom Home Phone that is attractive.
