Pathway Reviews and Plans
|Promo Plan Speeds|
Pathcom was founded back in 1995 making its endeavor over two-decades-long now. Pathcom provides internet solutions to many different types of clients such as healthcare providers, oil and gas companies, financial services firms, and various government agencies.
Pathcom’s headquarters can be found at 95 Apple Creek Blvd. Markham, Ontario L3R1C7 Canada. Pathcom holds pride in providing quality solutions to business owners in Canada, and they believe that as a business themselves they have an obligation to extend whatever services they can to other businesses across the country. However, our review will cover the residential services that Pathcom has to offer!
Pathcom has a DSL plan they call FastPath Homenet, which has a download speed of 6 Mbps per second and an upload speed of 0.8 Mbps per second. These values are consistent with other various internet providers who offer basic residential internet plans. Furthermore, this plan has an unlimited usage cap which is nice to see. The plan costs a total of $39.95 per month. You also have to factor a one-time setup fee. For this, a lower speed plan is $45. In case you need a dry-loop would have to factor that as well. In case you need a dry-loop, when there no Bell landline in the home, it is a one-time $19.99 installation fee and $10 monthly thereafter.
The other home Internet plans from Pathway are as follow:
- FastPath10 10 Mbps Down / 1 Mbps Up - Unlimited @ $39.95 per month (Promo)
- FastPath15 15 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up - Unlimited @ $49.95 per month
- FastPath25 25 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up - Unlimited @ $59.95 per month
- FastPath50 50 Mbps Down / 10 Mbps Up - Unlimited @ $69.95 per month
All plans include in the pricing a wireless modem and two line filters.
If compared to another prominent service provider like Altima Telecom which offers a 6 Mbps plan with unlimited usage and only charges $29.99 per month, we would notice a very steep price on part of Pathcom. Altima Telecom also has a wider spectrum of offers, you also can opt to have higher speeds up to 75 Mbps! Also opt to have cable internet, in which case you could be saving the dry-loop install and monthly fee!
In a further inspection of the Acceptable Use Policy, there was no mention of how Pathway would evaluate a customer nor what charges may be imposed. Upon numerous attempts to contact Pathcom about this, we have had no success.
All in all, based on the GoneVoIP review we find there is nothing special to say about Pathway Home Internet. Except that there are far better options and at the better price available across Canada!
