Amazingly Outstanding Customer Service!

The owner and employees at Odynet Inc in London, ON (since 1994, I understand) are certainly proficient at providing their customers with exceptional service! Understanding, very patient, kind, and courteous is what I've experienced to date, from pre-customer questions being answered to walking me through (step-by-step installation) until everything was running perfectly well, not to mention a $50 savings per month by switching over from a 'big' provider! They bent over backwards to make sure that my transition was as smooth as it could possibly be.

As a newer customer, referred by a family member who is a very happy long-time Odynet customer, I am extremely pleased to share that my experiences with this company - through their superb outstanding customer service - has me looking forward to being a long-time customer with them. I only wish I had known about Odynet sooner! So, I'm only too happy to share this with others, giving a great referral so that possible 'let's switch providers' prospects can see that there are customers, like me, who say "Absolutely! I recommend Odynet 100%!! :) What do you have to lose except frustrations, higher bills, and poor customer solutions coming from other companies out there? In my case, I had everything to gain...including the $50/month savings. :)

Thank you, Odynet!

From a grateful new customer (who used to be a customer service specialist, and knows what it takes to deliver the kind of customer solutions you all do ...bravo!)

Stay away from this ISP! They are happy enough to take your money for set up, but never really get a tech out to you. Further, they will make false claims that the Bell technician was there, thereby charging you for a service you are not receiving. Transparency is completely lacking, in addition to no customer service outside business hours. If you have an issue be prepared to wait a very long time.

Scam and would urge others to stay away.

Odynet has been reliable for two years, with the full speed all the time. There was a small technical problem, but not serious and they did try to fix it. You actually talk to the techies, not a call centre. They are "people of few words", not chatty, but practical. Their VoIP works excellently, reliably, clearer than a Bell line. Certainly recommend them.

I_ve been with Odynet since 2002 after running away from Bell Sympatico_s evolving version of "the internet".

Odynet_s service has always been solid and reliable.
They_ve been responsive to any problems, there haven_t been many of them and i think all but one was related to me or my hardware.

Over the years speeds have improved and for the past few years I_ve been lucky enough to be within range of their Res10/250 service in London_s core.

And yes I recommend them to friends and get to say "I told you so" to the ones that don_t listen.

Review from Canadianisp.ca

I have been with this ISP for 10 years and for the most part I have been trouble free. I am fairly self sufficient so I haven_t needed much technical support. Their billing department on the other hand is horrible and rude. I cringe every time I have a billing issue and that has been every bill for the last year. I have been too lazy to change because the price had been right for the OK connection that I had been getting. The last time they kept my billing the same price and changed my bandwidth cap from unlimited to 50GB with absolutely no notice. I contacted them as it had happened before and they said no problem that it would be corrected and it had always been. The last time the "person" supporting me sounded like he was a god and that I should be thankful that they hadn_t changed it before. Anyway choose them if you like but be aware of OK performance and rude customer service. I have made several attempts to contact them to get this straightened out but have had nothing but tumble weeds.

Odynet offers telecommunications services including residential and business high-speed internet in Ontario and Quebec. The company website states Odynet has been providing internet services to Ontario and Quebec since 1994, and Odynet states they were one of the original providers of high-speed DSL internet connections, since their inception in 1998.

Their company headquarters are in London, Ontario. While their primary data center is in London, they have core routing/switching at 151 Front Street, Toronto.

Odynet states they offer DSL, cable and fiber connections, while they also handle domain and website hosting.

In GoneVoIP review of Odynet’s internet services, we will take a look and see if they compare with GoneVoIP’s top three internet service providers.

Odynet’s DSL pricing plans are very favorable.  Their basic package coming in at $19.95 with download speeds of up to 6 Mbps, and upload speeds of 800 Kbps. Included in this package are 50 GB of bandwidth. This basic package comes in cheaper than Gonevoip’s top three internet service providers  – all of which check in at a base fee of $29.99.

Looking closer though, we see that Odynet also charges $10 for dry loop fees and a wireless upgrade of $3.

Their unlimited version of this package comes in at $34.95 with all of the same speeds but a bandwidth increase to the new normal, unlimited.

Their fiber packages come in at $44.95 (download speeds of up to 15 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Mbps) and $59.95 (download speeds of up to 25 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 10 Mbps). Both fiber packages offer unlimited data usage. While the DSL packages come with free activation, the fiber packages charge $50 for installation.

Also worth noting on the fiber packages, the $44.95 package allows you to go wireless for $3, while the $59.95 package requires you to spend $120 on the SmartRG SR505N modem. Perhaps you can acquire this modem on your own in order to cut this cost down?

Odynet also offers cable packages ranging from $44.95 to $64.95 with speeds ranging from 15 Mbps to 60 Mbps, depending if the Cable is from Rogers or Cogeco. The data usage for all cable plans is unlimited.

If you rent a modem through Odynet, they also charge you a $25 deposit fee, which you get back once you return the modem, which may never happen if you are satisfied with the service and keep it for the rest of your life.

In concluding GoneVoIP's review of Odynet, we are impressed with their base prices but are a bit turned off by their numerous extra fees such as dry loop fees, modem pricing, or charging extra to upgrade to unlimited. At first glance, the pricing seems reasonable, but you will have to sit down with a calculator to determine what the final costs will be. We do like that the company has a long tenure of providing internet to Ontario and Quebec. Longevity in this business is important, but the price is always the bottom line.
