Netfox is a prominent telecommunications service provider that reaches across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritime Provinces. Netfox was founded back in 2008 and has continued its steady progress in the world of telecommunications. Netfox boasts that its price drops over the years are strategic moves to entice more customers into their service. However, are these price drops really enough to compete in the cut-throat market that already exists? Netfox provides a variety of services that encompass internet solutions, and home phone services.  GoneVoIP will now review the specifics home phone VoIP plans that Netfox has to offer!

Netfox offers two Digital Home Phone plans:

  • Unlimited Canada at $14.95 per month
    • Unlimited Canada Long Distance
    • Free Local New Number or Port existing for $20
  • Unlimited Canada and the USA at $19.95 per month
    • Unlimited Long Distance to Canada and the USA

The features available on either of the plans are:

  • Advanced Voicemail
  • Message Waiting Indicator
  • Call Waiting
  • Caller ID
  • Call Forwarding
  • Find me/Follow me
  • Speed Dialing

GoneVoIP found the pricing on these plans, based on the services offered just do not add up! Phone Power isn’t the only VoIP Home Phone provider to out price NetFox; many others such as 1-VoIP, VoIPly and VoIP Much have a better price-tag than NetFox. By a pretty sizable margin.

Hopefully, NetFox can redeem itself in terms of long-distance calling! The rate at which you can call the Philipines with Netfox is between $0.12 and $0.13 cents per minute. While dialing Philipines with G3 Telecom would cost $0.12 cents per minute! However, when comparing the rates against another prominent Home Phone provider, VoIP Much the international long distance calls to the Philipines are $0.10 per minute. We find NetFox once again is more expensive by a margin!

Luckily the acceptable use policy didn’t reveal any severe limitations to the unlimited service and everything was in order in that regard. However, the number of features that are inclusive of this package seems to be just shy of the mandatory. There was no mention of working fax service, let alone the added bonus of fax to email incentives which many providers offer. Furthermore choosing your own number, or bring your existing one would cost an extra charge of $20.00 which is usually offered for free by other prominent providers. Perhaps the only relief is the permissibility for using your own device when opting for NetFox service.

In all honesty, there isn’t much that Netfox is putting out there for potential customers to grab. The pricing is relatively high. In terms of the features, the truth isn't up to par with the best and the international calling rates aren’t that special either. These plans are just another run of the mill phone service which doesn’t have all that much to offer except for the service itself.
