Hello Syed,

I notice your review is for Magic Jack! We are not Magic Jack or affiliated with them! They are our competitor!

service

The service itself is good. I had auto renewal which they did. Unfortunately my services quit. I called in and they told me to unplug and plug back in to reset then give it some time to work. With covid I finally got a chance to call back in in April, November was first time. When I did it was finally explained after trying to get it working that I had to renew my Canadian number as well. Although being 5 months of no service and already paid for main renewal.. they wouldn't budge and wanted full amount to be paid even though half a year passed and couldn't use their product. Call in October again and was told had to pay for two years to get my service back. No ifs ands or buts.. completely not fair in the customer's area.

Pathetic

MagicJack is an absolute joke. This company is run by a bunch of scabs. They barely provide a "service". The product doesn't work more than the warranty holds. They do not stand by their product, their tech support is absolutely useless and the billing department hangs up on you when you want to find a solution. This company is a disgrace. It's clear they just want your money and don't give a f**k about you after that. A cheap service is never a good service. Run fast and far from these clowns unless you like to flush your money. If I could give a -10 review I would.

Works well - within limits

Have been using Magicjack at the church for 5 years. Had one device failure. Support was a little bit worse than Bell, but the service itself better. I was going to use it for home phone but could not port my long-term number so went for OOMA at home. For the price it's been VERY good.

After Magic Jack has your money service drups to -0-

Magic Jack is a scam. I paid in 2017 for a 5 years connection. At the time I had a weak internet connection and Magic Jack didn't work. I asked for refund - which was denied. Now I have moved and have an poerful internet connection. Since I still have 1 year and 11 month left on my prepaid contract, I tried to get reconnected with MagicJack. The only emails I'm getting is how to pay! ... agin. No service or advice on how how to re-connect.
I absolute DO NOT recommend Magic Jack !!!

magicJack traces his root to the very first Internet Phone ever, back in 1996. It is incredible that we are 23-years later talking about the benefits of magicJack! The very first magicJack to come to market was a USB device that required a computer to be on at all times.

In 2011 magicJack PLUS was introduced; which since has eliminated the need for a computer. The MagicJack PLUS can be plugged directly into the AC adapter and to the normal household telephones.

As with other Single Box Home Phone solutions with the initial purchase you get the adapter and first-year, or first 3-months depending on if you get magicJack GO or MagicJack Express subscription. GoneVoIP found MagicJack has the usual VoIP Home Phone features:

  • Caller ID
  • Call forwarding
  • Voicemail
  • Unlimited Canada/US calling is also included
  • supports number portability (for a fee)

With the magic app, you can have your phone number available to you on your smartphone. Making it an ideal companion when traveling.

Shall be noted that not all calls are free with magicJack; there is a certain type of calls that may require a premium; such as calls to conference bridges or calling cards. magicJack is a widely popular solution; though those looking at VoIP Home Phone may want to consider Ooma in the Single Box category or VoIP Much as for a feature set richer and with more flexibility as it also allows BYOD.

You may renew majicJack into the following plans;

  1. 1-Year for $39 (one-time payment)
  2. 3-Years for $92 (one-time payment)
  3. 5-Years for $120 (one-time payment)

Features

Call Blocking Checkmark
Conference Calling Checkmark
BYOD: Checkmark
Smartphone App: Checkmark
Call Forwarding Checkmark
Call Hold Checkmark
Caller ID Name: Checkmark
Enhanced VoiceMail: Checkmark

What is the cost of a call to the uk

Depends on if you are calling a mobile or a landline in the UK, but you should expect to pay cents per minute. Something around $0.05 for a landline and $0.10 for a mobile; give or take.
