Kontego is a relatively new company that has been providing telecommunication services since 2010. Not only do they provide internet services, but they also provide a wide variety of other services such as disaster recovery and planning, e-commerce, VoIP plans and network monitoring and surveillance.

For a company that is so young, the expanse of their services is quite impressive. Kontegos website was blunt and to the point, offering whatever information they can about their internet plans on the main page.

The headquarters of Kontego can be found at 55 Louvain West, Suite 300, Montreal, Quebec, H2N 1A4, Canada.

Kontego offers a residential internet plan with 25 Mbps download speeds and upload speeds that were not mentioned. This plan is offered at an unlimited bandwidth rate and costs a total of $59.99 per month. 25 Mbps is quite high in comparison to the other starter plans being offered by various service providers, which usually start at around 6 Mbps. Nonetheless, the pricing on this plan is amazing considering what other providers impose. TekSavvy offers a 25 Mbps plan with upload speeds of up to 7 Mbps with unlimited bandwidth usage for $77.99 per month. That is a price difference that works well in the favor of customers who have opted for Kontego service. The icing on the cake is that this price is obtainable without the necessity of any contractual agreement. When pricing this great is offered, it is usually coupled with a contract, and Kontego certainly didn’t indulge in that gouging practice.

The information provided on the website was quite vague in regards to additional charges. From what we could extrapolate, all the equipment required to provide a customer with internet access is given for free.  Whether or not the dry loop installation has a charge was also not discussed. Contacting Kontego at their provided telephone number proved difficult considering we reached the voicemail at three different times during their working hours. However, we would like to give Kontego the benefit of the doubt considering they do mention profusely that there are no hidden charges.

All in all, Kontego is bringing a lot to the table, including pricing that can’t be beat, above average speeds being offered at an unlimited bandwidth rate, and non-existent additional charges. The great thing about Kontego is that it doesn’t seem that they are working too hard to get their customers; the plans do that for them. This is the key to success for any internet service provider; an irresistible plan is what makes customers feel guilty if they don’t opt for it!
