Inter.net was an Independent Canadian ISP with HQ in Cambridge, ON. As with, many ISPs it had grown to offer Digital Home Phone, utilizing VoIP technology. Now is no longer a true provider, rather a flanker brand. Part of the Fibernetics group of companies. Inter.net website has become a different dressing for the Internet and The Digital Home Phone for Fibernetics' Worldline brand.

In our Inter.net/Worline Digital Home Phone, Review we found the four available plans include typical features such as:

  • Caller ID,
  • Voicemail to Email
  • Call Forwarding
  • Call Waiting
  • Three-Way Calling

Just to name a few. Though all plans lack BYOD support and integration with a Smartphone or desktop app. The positive is that all support e911. In total has 12 Advanced features.

The calling plans are as follow:

  • Basic. Unlimited Local Calling + 200 minutes Canada & the USA calls @ $9.95 month
  • Canada. Unlimited Canada Wide Calling @ $14.95 month
  • Canada & the USA. Unlimited Canada + USA @ $19.95 month
  • Call the World. 50+ Countries and 1,000 minutes to India @ $24.95

Having the  ATA, Analog Telephone Adapter, will set you back $34.95 and also you'll have to factor in a $9.95 activation fee. As it is the norm with VoIP Digital Home Phone calls to others within the same Home Phone provider, are free. Inter.net/Worldline does offer number portability, so you can keep your existing phone number for free.

In terms of long-distance calling, rates are generally good when compared to Bell Canada. Having said that, if you'll be using a lot of minutes to talk to your family and friends overseas you may want to look at our Top Long Distance providers. Top Long Distance providers are cheaper in about 40% to 60% of the cases.

In summary, Fibernetics'  WorldLine or Inter.net Digital Home Phone is an alternative to consider but one has to understand is that of an overstretched ISP provider so pricing is not competitive and features are not as modern. So in sum, we can conclude that this Home Phone is not as good as those of Top Home Phone Providers.
