Review from pissedconsumer.com

Received a security alert from my credit card company (thanks Chase Sapphire!) on a $137.44 charge. Evoice charged me for a subscription to their services, even though I have never heard of them or visited their website. Spoke with the customer service guy - he could not find my credit card number anywhere in their system. When I told him they were running a fraud, he insisted that was my "opinion" instead of a really obvious fact. For reference, appeared on my credit card as: J2 *Evoice. The merchant telephone number captured by my credit card company was 866-761-8109.

Cannot get consistent call quality with dropped connections and poor call quality. Trying to get anything from their customer service is an exercise in futility.

eVoice took my money then shut off my account with no notice because "it was flagged". If I hadn_t tried to access my account to update with a new billing info, I wouldn_t have discovered it for weeks. When I called them, they had no explanation. This is total *** Work with someone else.

Don_t waste your time trying to email their support staff to cancel your account. They_ll mislead you into thinking they_ll process your cancelation, yet will keep charging your card. Even while calling (and not being friendly about the situation at all), they_ll still try to trick you into not cancelling. I_ve contacted my bank about 4 months of fraudulent transactions and they were quit familiar with eVoice and their shady practices. IF YOU READ THIS DO NOT SIGNUP FOR A TRIAL!!

Poor call quality. Delay in caller voice as if on international call. Calls hang up when I answer. Callers have difficulty leaving voicemail. No notification that calls are coming thru via eVoice - appear like any other call on my phone. Callers have difficulty hearing me. Even when I_ve called eVoice customer service, the agent could not hear me. I am unable to get a response from the _contact us_ form on the eVoice website.

eVoice was established in the year 2000 with the purpose to help small and medium-size business manage their calls more efficiently.  Shall be noted eVoice cloud PBX (or hosted PBX) is powered by J2 Global, whom Canadian HW is in Ottawa, ON. In our eVoice Review, we looked at the medium size eVoice offer of 5-extensions. We believe it is one of the most complete, feature-rich available for small businesses. In the large list of included features, you have inbound Fax, auto Receptionist, and mobile app (although only for Android and iPhone) just to name a few.

However, the eVoice plan comes with only 1,000 minutes of calling, shared across the extensions which may be too little. Each additional minute is billed at $0.039 - which is expensive when compared to other plans. We do like the fact one can choose a 1-800 number along with a local number. We were not able to verify the international calling rates at the time of our review.

As part of premium features, one can get the business texting, and outbound faxing for instance; for these a monthly charge will apply.

In all eVoice GoneVoIP considers eVoice as a nice alternative to the big telecom operators to consider. Though the monthly cost may be more expensive than other alternatives in the market & that is as feature-rich or richer.
