DitchIt is a relatively young internet service provider when put up against the competition it has to face in Canada having been founded 2008 a mere seven years ago. The wordplay on their business name is quite amusing as they boast that their service will make consumers ditch whatever they previously had for their service instead. DitchIt provides a multitude of services ranging from internet solutions, PVR, and VoIP services.

A lengthy research into where the headquarters of DitchIt is located turned out to be fruitless. Due to the fact they are a relatively new company their employee force is only 10 people strong. Nonetheless, we want to give them a fair review of their services and how they match up against some of the great’s in the VoIP service world.

Ditchit offers an unlimited North America wide plan for the cost of $24.99 per month. The price may seem to be very steep and indeed it is, but Ditchit does also offer a large range of features which many other providers do not. Before we discuss the features, however, let us compare this pricing to another prominent VoIP service provider known as PhonePower; who also offer an unlimited North America plan. VoIPly offers their unlimited North America wide plan for only $7.40 per month and offers a large number of features as well. There is a difference of almost 3 times the price that VoIPLy has to offer.

A very disappointing factor we noticed about the Ditchit home phone service was that there was no mention of the international calling rates that Ditchit implements. In fact, there was no mention whether or not this plan would accommodate for international calling or not.

The list of features that Ditchit has to offer is definitely impressive, to say the least, and we noticed they are offering features within the plan which many other providers only offer as add-ons. For example, the voicemail to email service, telemarketer blocking, alarm security compatibility, and service dependent fax support are al great inclusive features of this plan. However, we did notice a lack of any smartphone app to better compliment the impressive list of features already present. Smartphone apps are very crucial in the VoIP business today considering a very large majority of the customers that VoIP provides acquire also have smartphones.

Ditchit falls short even though they make a very grand statement with the features that they provide. The lack of information on international calling rates is very unsettling and the price of this plan can definitely be improved upon. So in the end, you may have to ditch DitchIt!
