Deveca was founded back in late 2009 and opened services in August 2010. They are fairly young in comparison to many other internet service providers but that doesn’t mean they don’t pack a punch. They offer a variety of services ranging from telephone solutions, internet services, web designing, and technical support in the Hamilton and London regions of Ontario. Currently Deveca can’t keep up with the demands of new clients so they are servicing existing clients only. This suggests that Deveca certainly needs to think about expanding soon! The headquarters of Deveca are located in Ontario, Canada. Let us now review one of Deveca’s main residential plans to get better insight into their services.
Deveca offers a residential plan that comes with a download speed of up to 6 mbps, and the upload speed is not mentioned. There is no bandwidth cap on this plan and costs a total of $45.99 per month. This price is substantially higher than most other service providers who offer their services across the entirety of Ontario. For example Worldline offers a 6 mbps plan with an upload speed of up to 1 mbps with an unlimited usage cap for only $29.99 per month. The $16.00 difference is certainly phenomenal. Furthermore due to the fact that the prices are now being updated on their website to what we previously mentioned, one cannot order any of Deveca’s internet plans.
The capped plan is also very expensive; it comes with a cap of 300 GBs and costs $34.99 per month. TekSavvy offers a 6 mbps plan with a usage cap of 400 GBs for only $32.99 per month! Not only is TekSavvy’s cap much larger, but the price is also smaller. Deveca’s recent price increase has certainly handicapped them in terms of dealing with the competition that they have.
Upon trying to locate the terms and conditions policy on Deveca’s website, we noticed there wasn’t one. Whether or not unlimited plans are throttled remains a mystery and our numerous attempts to reach out to them have gone in vain.
In all honesty Deveca has made a grave mistake in increasing their charges. They mentioned on their main page that this change was forced. We would like to know why it is than that other internet service providers aren’t forced to do the same! There are multitudes of better options available, and for a company that currently can’t keep up with the clients they already have, we realize that Deveca lacks any real promise.
