Cannet provides the worst service in the world

Be aware ofCANNET.... unstop unstable speed. Sometimes they have NO SERVICE and all internet stopped. If you are in a rush such as buying Stock Market or making a transfer on a deal, YOU WILL LOSS.
When you contact them and they would call you back next day when the service recovered. Then they would lie you they had never have internet problem. Their customer service people will not help you but only push all liabilities and responsibilities to customers. THIS COMPANY HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL and all people work there are impolite and sliding responsibility to customer. You will be tired on using them. Even cancellation, they DON'T HAVE STORE and YOU NEED TO PAY $20.00 to mail the box back to them. The saving will not cover your mental suffering and the mailing cost once Canada Post increase the cost again.
I just cancelled this and just today their customer service people made mistake but would not take liability but saying that was YOUR PROBLEM.
Contact me if you want to know the details of their BAD SERVICES.

It seems this CanNet has problem. They sent the email to me on this and now they replied here again but asking the same questions here.

Here was their response
Dear Kakuen,

We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience caused to you and at the same time, I would like to thank you for returning back the device to us.

I have read the whole previous conversation which was between you and our representative Mr. Rupam Das. I have shared the valuable feed back with him in order to improve on our services and he could also understand customer's concern minutely instead of providing the regular information without understanding any concern.

We would also change the email responses as per your suggestions and would add all the necessary information in it.

As of now, I could only apologize you for all the inconvenience and would request you to please ignore all odds done by our agent and would like to see you as a happy customer who used our services and leaving our services on a happy note.

If you have any further concern then please feel free to write us again, We would be happy to help you in the best possible way.

Sincerely,
Sahil.W

CanNet Telecom, also known as cannettel, is a Canadian ISP HQ in North York, Ontario. In spite of a rather short history, established in 2009 only, CanNet Telecom has become a top choice for many looking to scape the big telecom giants.

As an ISP CanNet does focus only on providing cable broadband internet access. Cannet is available in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, and Ontario. It shall be mentioned, CanNet had been deemed to be one of the largest independent internet service providers in Canada. CanNet call themselves as the largest third-party provider for the main Cable operators in the country (Rogers, Bell, Cogeco, Videotron, and Shaw)

Let us shift attention now to review CanNet internet plans. We found there are currently 5 internet plans. We'll detail them below.

  1. Cable 30: Down 30 Mbps / Up 5 Mbps @ $44.98 / month
  2. Cable 75: Down 75 Mbps / Up 7.5 Mbps @ $39.98 / month
  3. Cable 150: Down 150 Mbps / Up 15 Mbps @ $59.98 / month
  4. Cable 250: Down 250 Mbps / Up 20 Mbps @ $89.98 / month

In Gonevoip CanNet Review we find the plans to be in the right price point with good speeds choices at various levels, and since all plans come with unlimited usage that makes the CanNet Internet plans even better.

Having said that let us continue with CanNet internet plans reviews, now let's review the additional fees. First the good news, there is no shipping for any of the plans. That is great! Though Gonevoip found there is a rather disproportionate Activation Fee, also called Processing Fee, of $99.95 for each of the five internet plans. Though the strangeness with fees does not stop just with a colossal setup fee. We found that all plans include a Discount of $10, which comes to neutralize the monthly fee of $9.98 per month for modem rental. It is odd the discount is presented that way, that lead us to believe at some point the modem rental and discount will not be cancelling each other.

In the final note of consideration is that CanNet internet regardless of the plan you chose does not require a contract nor time commitment.

In all, in our CanNet Internet review, we find many positive aspects and see great potential. The speed, usage and monthly rate CanNet offer on the internet plans are mostly right. Though the lowlight is the Activation Fee; definitively needs to be lowered. In a similar fashion could introduce support for BYOD to support other/more modems. While CanNet may be a good Cable Internet alternative, why not also offer DSL or Fiber?  Hence giving more flexibility and more choices to all.
