Not much can be said about the history of Caneris considering they don’t speak about it on their website. Caneris, however, was founded back in 2007 giving it close to a decade of experience in the telecommunications world. They offer a variety of services ranging from internet solutions, hosting and co-location, firewall and VPN solutions and many more. The headquarters of Caneris can be found at 151 Front Street West, Toronto, ON M5J 2N1. Let us now review of Caneris’s main residential plans to see how they match up to the competition.

Caneris offers a basic residential plan with download speeds of up to 6 mbps and upload speeds of up to 800 kbps. When it comes to transfer speeds, these are the most common speeds customers will find for basic plans across many different internet service providers. Furthermore, this plan comes with a healthy usage cap of 300 GBS per month. This plan comes with a price tag of $34.95 per month, which in all honesty is not that bad. However is it up to par with other prominent internet service providers? Distributel offers a 7 mbps plan which has a cap of a whopping 400 GBs for $29.95. The price difference is only $3.00 dollars which in fairness to Caneris, isn’t that big of a deal!

Caneris overage charges amount to $0.50 per month. Considering that the cap is 300 GBS however, we believe it would be pretty hard to reach the limit itself! Most service providers who are looking for easy revenue implement small usage caps with high overage charges. Caneris does the opposite of this practice, by implementing a large usage cap with low overage charges, and we commend them for this!

Consumers who want to attain this plan but do not have an active telephone service must look into the Dry-Dsl plan on offer by Caneris. This plan includes an extra line fee which can range between $8.50 to $16.00 per month depending on where you live. These are the standard fees that are implemented by most internet service providers unless they are offering promotional value.

Caneris offers a very competitive plan with its large usage cap and moderately economic pricing. Caneris keeps everything simple and to the point with what it is offering and does not go overboard with extra charges either. This plan comes with no activation or set-up fee, and it is also pleasing to know that this plan is obtainable on a bill to bill basis rather than a contractual term!
