Canada On-Line Inc was founded back in 1994 making it an internet service provider with over a decade of experience. Canada On-Line Inc has one of the most entertaining and informative websites of any internet service provider we have seen thus far. With options to play games, catch up on news or even check your horoscope the website is a definite treat. However our focus will be on their bread and butter; the most prominent high-speed internet connection for residential use that Canada On-Line Inc offers. Canada On-Line Inc’s headquarters can be found at 5155 Spectrum Way Bldg. 36 Mississauga, Ontario, L4W 5A1.

Canada On-Line offers a residential plan which they call the residential DSL. The first thing worth pointing out is that this plan has a special price of $24.99 per month on the condition that the customer opts into a contract of 6 months to 1 year long. Let us now review the specifications of this plan. The residential DSL plan of Canada On-Line offers download speeds of up to 6 mbps and has a usage cap of a meager 15 GBs. Even at the price of $24.99 this plan is just not worth it considering the competition it is facing. TekSavvy offers a 7 mbps plan with a usage cap of 150 GBs for only $27.99 per month! The usage cap of TekSavvy is a staggering 10 times higher then what Canada On-Line is offering. The numbers speak for themselves and there is no way to deny that Canada On-Line offers a price that is certainly not reasonable.

Furthermore, the overage charge this plan has is definitely the most expensive one we have seen by far! At $0.80 per 100 MBs, a user would pay $8.00 for every extra gigabyte he or she consumes. TekSavvy offers an overage charge of only $0.25 cents! You can get 32 GB’s extra with TekSavvy for the rate you would be paying if opting into Canada On-Line service.

Not only are the rates excruciatingly high Canada On-Line makes no mention about an unlimited usage time frame. Most internet service providers offer customers with set times in which they can surf, download, and upload data without being penalized against their monthly bandwidth, however even with its paltry limit and expensive overage charge, Canada On-Line does not offer that incentive.

In all honesty, we can easily assert that there are far better options than Canada On-Line that are easily accessible. The charges are too high, and promotions require a contract agreement! No mention of free usage times and substantially high overage charges has definitely sunk the ship for Canada On-Line.
