They are just so soI have the 1000Mbps plan in my condo which does speed tests at 950/950 if using Beanfield servers. If you use Rogers or other speed test sites it's more like 250/250. I find it runs slowly though, even though speed tests are fine. Sometimes you'll click a link or go to facebook.com and it just sits there doing nothing for 10 secs like it's stalled, then immediately loads. It's definitely a shared network, as you share the speed with your whole condo.

Beanfield Metroconnect provides internet solutions to condos and apartment buildings across Canada. Beanfield operates only on their own fiber-optic medium, which means they provide extremely high speeds at lower costs when compared to internet service providers who offer their services to homes as well. The only downside to any internet service that offers connections to condos or apartments only is whether or not that building supports fiber optic cabling. Nonetheless, Beanfield Metroconnect goes the extra mile by offering to set up fiber optic capabilities for buildings that do not have it. The headquarters of Beanfield can be found at 77 Mowat Ave, Toronto, M6K 3E3.
Beanfield internet plans are very straightforward considering they are all unlimited. There is no hassle of overage charges and the monthly payment is the same throughout the year.
Beanfield Residential currently has 1 Home Internet plans available for the buildings they serve:
- 1 Gbps Down/Up, Unlimited at $50 per month (free hardware and installation)
The unavoidable truth is that any condo owner or apartment tenant would find Beanfield residential internet to be the most economical solution to their internet needs. Upon reaching out to a representative of Beanfield Metroconnect, we learned that they are currently expanding and will provide their services to homeowners in the future.
Upon further discussion, we also learned that Beanfield doesn’t engage in any bandwidth throttling as well, which makes Beanfield a very tough competitor to bear! Beanfield offers two options when it comes to down to install their services. The first option would require the consumer to pay a onetime fee of $50 and rental charges for the router are $8 per month or $100 one-time.
GoneVoIP believes Beanfield Metroconnect is a prime example of what internet services should be like in this day and age. Extremely high transfer speeds, no usage caps, and a price that can’t be beaten! The only upsetting aspect is that Beanfield Home Internet services aren’t currently available everywhere, as they are available in a few Condos in Toronto area. Though it's reassuring to know Beanfield Metroconnect Home Internet is expanding daily!
