Review from Canadianisp.ca

Auracom is great. I have been a customer for well over 10 years. They always help with any issues (which is usually just email setup on my computer).

Very pleased with the service provided and upgrades made over the years. I have been with auracom since 1996.

Review from Canadianisp.ca

I have been with this company since 2004. I started with their dial up service then moved to a location where I was able to bundle my services and get high speed. At that time I opted to keep my email address with auracom and pay the $10/year fee which I thought was reasonable. Earlier this year they changed this rate and are now charging me $5/mth plus hst for the same email address. I_ve tried to speak with customer service regarding this as I feel it unfair to have such a drastic increase in price for something that_s available elsewhere for free, especially after being with the company for 10 years. I can_t begin to imagine the nightmare of changing my email address so I_m reluctantly paying this fee. Unfortunately I_m not being seen as an individual here, instead being charged a fee that will give me a bunch of other services I do not need nor want. Their phone number puts you through to a call center in another country and they_re no help. Shame on you auracom for doing this to your customers.

Review from Canadianisp.ca

Worst internet I have ever seen in my entire life. It_s almost unbelievable how bad it is. We have their fastest possible option and it_s the slowest internet I_ve ever used.

The worst thing is that it_s extremely unstable. The internet can go out at any moment. Did I say can? I mean it will go out 100% at least few times a day.

I actually think that_s not the worst part about Auracom. The actual worst is that there seems to be some kind of throttling going on. If even one person is watching a stream, or a simple YouTube clip, ... ody else can use the internet. It actually like doesn_t work. It_s the most unbelievable ... I have ever seen in my life.

Just stay far far away...

Auracom is an internet services provider which offers DSL and dial-up services. Auracom is a Canadian company which is owned by IKANO Canada which in turn is owned by Ikano Communications, Inc., a Utah corporation. Their Canadian HQ is in Toronto, Canada.

Auracom serves all Canadian provinces as well as the United States. To see if they cover your specific area, you will have to enter your postal code on their website.

The company states they have residential packages starting for as little as $25.95 per month, but when I entered my address, the cheapest option which came up was for $41.95 per month. These prices are listed as including the dry loop fees, so it is possible that the price is $25.95 per month and the dry loop fees are an additional $15 per month; however, this is not made clear when the plan is displayed. What is clearly displayed is that for that price you will be receiving 6 Mbps download speeds and .8 Mbps upload speeds. You also receive 300 Gb of data usage.

Auracom advertises this plan as being XBOX and PS2 compatible. Considering both the Xbox One and PS4 have come out, it makes you wonder when the last time they updated this website was. Activation and setup fees range from $60 to $100, depending on who your phone subscriber is.

Auracom also offers unlimited dial-up access starting at $11.95 per month. For dial-up services, any amount over 250 hours per month is considered exorbitant.

There are a few hidden costs which pop up in the terms and services although none related to specific usage restrictions. There is a $50 fee for switching from a Static IP to a Dynamic IP. If you choose to downgrade or even upgrade your plan, you may be charged $50. As for any overage charges, there is no specification in the terms of use agreement on how additional usage would be billed.

Upon calling Auracom for verification on the exact details of their plan (dry loop fees vs. actual plan price), we were left on hold for over an hour and were unable to confirm, the details.
