Auracom is an internet services provider which offers DSL and dial-up services. Auracom is a Canadian company which is owned by IKANO Canada which in turn is owned by Ikano Communications, Inc., a Utah corporation. Their Canadian HQ is in Toronto, Canada.

Auracom serves all Canadian provinces as well as the United States. To see if they cover your specific area, you will have to enter your postal code on their website.

The company states they have residential packages starting for as little as $25.95 per month, but when I entered my address, the cheapest option which came up was for $41.95 per month. These prices are listed as including the dry loop fees, so it is possible that the price is $25.95 per month and the dry loop fees are an additional $15 per month; however, this is not made clear when the plan is displayed. What is clearly displayed is that for that price you will be receiving 6 Mbps download speeds and .8 Mbps upload speeds. You also receive 300 Gb of data usage.

Auracom advertises this plan as being XBOX and PS2 compatible. Considering both the Xbox One and PS4 have come out, it makes you wonder when the last time they updated this website was. Activation and setup fees range from $60 to $100, depending on who your phone subscriber is.

Auracom also offers unlimited dial-up access starting at $11.95 per month. For dial-up services, any amount over 250 hours per month is considered exorbitant.

There are a few hidden costs which pop up in the terms and services although none related to specific usage restrictions. There is a $50 fee for switching from a Static IP to a Dynamic IP. If you choose to downgrade or even upgrade your plan, you may be charged $50. As for any overage charges, there is no specification in the terms of use agreement on how additional usage would be billed.

Upon calling Auracom for verification on the exact details of their plan (dry loop fees vs. actual plan price), we were left on hold for over an hour and were unable to confirm, the details.
