Overage: is a wireless high-speed internet company with HQ in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The company has been around since 2008.

Albertacom’s basic package is called the ACCS101 Package. This allows for 12 GB of monthly data usage, download speeds of 1.5 Mbps, and 512 Kbps of upload speeds. This package comes in at $39.95 per month on a three-year contract with a $150 installation fee. The same package is also available for a one-year contract with an installation of $250 instead.

Albertacom advertises these speeds as being “as fast as – or faster than – dial-up, ISDN, DSL, MMDS, cable, and satellite. That may be true for dial-up but as of today's standards for DSL and cable, it is false otherwise.

They do also offer two other packages. The ACCS102 is $49.95 for 32 GB of monthly usage, download speeds of 2 Mbps and upload speeds of 768 Kbps. The ACCS103 is $54.95 for 60 GB of monthly usage, download speeds of 3 Mbps and upload speeds of 1 Mbps. Again both of those come with a $150 installation fee if signing a three-year contract, otherwise the installation fee shoots up to $250.

There are a phone number and an email as the only options for contacting customer support. When we called we were unable to get through to anyone during mid-day hours.

The newest Internet packages using 0FDM Technology go for about the same price and similar cap. The difference being these new packages are reaching up to 15 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload; with 1 TB at a monthly cost of $149.95’s packages are sincerely on the expensive side. Having said that, it may well be the only choice you have available, so we encourage you to negotiate. For example, negotiate the installation fees. These are steep and their lack of customer service options is rather unsettling. Anytime you can’t get through to the support or sales staff during normal business hours, it is just a stark preview of what you can expect if there ever is a service outage.
