Amazing service

I have Vianet internet in Gravenhurst. 40 meg down 20 up. It far exceeds anything anyone else can get me. Lots offer more but can't deliver. This company delivers exactly what they say. Price is as cheap as Bell 5 meh which only delivers 1 to2 meg at best when it worked. Great company and they are now upgrading their service to do 're in Gravenhurst Ontario. Should be here by spring if not before.

Review from Canadianisp.ca

I have been with vianet for a few years now, and as long as they keep offering what I have been paying for, I will NOT change providers. Vianet_s customer service has been nothing short of amazing to me.

Review from Canadianisp.ca

Canadian ISP lists Vianet as having no cap, however on Cable you only get 80gb for $44.95. Rogers give a better deal than that!

Vianet is a telecommunications services provider. They serve the central and eastern areas of Ontario. Vianet was founded in 1988 on Timmis, ON. Today Vianet Head Office is in Sudbury, Ontario. Vianet has been growing thru acquisitions over the last few years, employing more than 150 people across Ontario.

In this review of Vianet Internet service, Gonevoip will take a look at the internet services they provide and see how they stack up with Gonevoip's top internet service providers.

Vianet offers five internet broadband packages. They are the High-Speed Fibre, High-Speed Cable, High-Speed DSL, High-Speed Wireless, and the good old Dial-up internet.

Vianet offers five broadband internet packages: High-Speed Fibre. High Speed Cable, High-Speed DSL, High-Speed Wireless and Dialup Internet.

High-Speed Fibre Internet Packages:

  • Fibre 100: 100 Mbps Download, 50 Mbps Upload at $99.95 a month
  • Fibre 200: 200 Mbps Download, 100 Mbps Upload at $119.95 a month
  • Fibre 400: 400 Mbps Download, 200 Mbps Upload at $139.95 a month
  • Fibre 1G: 1000 Mbps Download, 500 Mbps Upload at $199.95 a month

High-Speed Cable Internet Packages:

  • Cable 15: 15 Mbps Download, 2 Mbps Upload at $59.95/month
  • Cable 60: 60 Mbps Download, 10 Mbps Upload at $79.95/month

As you can see, the region will affect the availability, upload speeds and prices of the plans.

High-Speed DSL Packages:

  • DSL 15: 15 Mbps Download, 1 Mbps Upload at $57.99/month
  • DSL 25: 25 Mbps Download, 10 Mbps Upload at $69.99/month

All these plans above do have unlimited data usage. There is an onetime fee of $75, oddly called their “Ordering Fee”, assume that is the same as Setup Fee elsewhere. There is also an adoption to have a WiFi Router rental for $8.99 a month.

Vianet’s Wireless internet speeds will be determined by your region. We encourage you to go on to the website, go to “Check Availability” if you are considering choosing this option.

Vianet’s Dialup Internet plans are also determined by your city so we encourage you to look into that if you are interested.

If speed is what you are after, clearly the best option from Vianet is the High-Speed Fibre packages. You will have to pay more than with the High-Speed Cable Internet but you’ll get everything 3 times as fast! The internet speeds for DSL are rather slow for today’s standards, but with unlimited data, usage is something to consider if nothing else is available. If usage is light or in remote areas then you can look at the High-Speed Wireless options.

Luckily, they stay there are no overage charges as all packages are unlimited.

Unfortunately, a downside is that with the Wireless Internet you will have to go over the shopping cart experience to get a price for the internet since it is heavily dependent on your region.

One positive is there are no yearly contracts, but rather a monthly contract. If you want to terminate, you must give Vianet five business days’ notice prior to the monthly renewal date.

In GoneVoIP’s review of Vianet Home Internet, we are very encouraged with the High-Speed plans we reviewed. It’s good to have speed and unlimited data usage, we wish that pricing was competitive as well. Vianet's cheapest DSL package is somewhat reasonable, if not overpriced, consider it offers decent speeds and unlimited usage, the $75 Ordering Fee seems unnecessary. Companies such as GoneVoIP’s top Home internet service providers may provide as quick or quicker speeds, unlimited data usage amounts, and certainly more reasonable prices.

Canada’s Internet Speeds and Prices

Types of internet access providers Last summer we set out to analyze the status of the home internet connection speeds across the country. We picked fourteen representative major urban centers and analyzed factors such as maximum available download speed, average speed, and average monthly pricing. This analysis shows some very interesting facts, for example, while Albertans are expected to pay less for gas than, say, Ontarians. However, on average Albertans will be paying some $7 more than Ontarians per month for equivalent internet
