Sinterix is a Canadian telecommunications provider that services Ontario and Quebec. Their head office is in Toronto, Ontario.
Sinterix focuses on high-speed Internet, phone services, IPTV and VOIP services.
In our review of Sinterix, we will look at their residential VOIP phone services and see how they stack up against the competition.
Sinterix offers Canadian home phone service for $14.95 per month. Features included with this service are call waiting, three-way calling, voicemail, follow me, do not disturb, call forwarding, 911 service, and caller ID.
You have the option of using your own hardware or you can purchase an ATA adapter for $75, although it is listed at $49.95 on the site when you order it, it comes in at $75 with no explanation on why there was a price jump!
You also have the option of renting it the ATA adapter for $4.95 per month. Beyond that, we do not see any additional set up fees.
Long-distance calling rates are somewhat reasonable, with calls to NY for $0.02 per minute and places such as Paris and Pakistan for $0.33.
Sinterix offers a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the quality of the service. They do a full refund minus the setup fees related to third-party service activations.
In our review of Sinterix, we found this company to be a fairly standard company with standard Ontario rates. They are worth checking out because their price is okay, borderline reasonable but nearly identical with a plethora of other providers. Features are okay but nothing that makes them stand out.
We did, however, found that there were too many inconsistencies on the website with pricing listed as one way in one part of the website and a different way in another – with no explanation as to why. For instance, it states they only service Ontario and Quebec, but when you attempt to order, all of the provinces come up as an option. We are not sure if they have recently expanded to include nationwide coverage or if this is just an error.
We wish they had 24-7 support, but their support service is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., which is reasonable.
One cool thing is that Sinterix states that as of January 2017, a portion of all monthly payments is donated to charities around the World. They don’t state which ones but say all of the charities focus on life-saving causes for things like a forest, saving trees, wildlife, sea life, climate change, and medical charities. It is certainly welcome, and we wish more companies followed suit. Though to be fair, more details shall be included. Such as which charities and how much are they receiving? Do customers have a voice in selecting charities? That is the next step.
