HORRIBLE and UNHELPFUL

Horrible experience. Duped my 70 yearr old dad. They said if he signs up they will install and do everything else to transfer the account.
They ended up cutting his phone line and refused for someone to come set up the Router. My dad is 70! He does not know how to use a computer or set up anything. The sales guy knew this when he was signing him up . these ass wipes said they would set up his internet and everything just to get the account but never did. After weeks they finally agreed to cancel it
Customer support is useless. WHY IS THIS COMPANY STILL ACTIVE???

SCAM!!!

When I was in costco I noticed a Primus booth and inquired about more information. It seemed like a great service. I gave a very small amount of my information and was told a rep would contact me to further set up an account.

The next day I received an email with contracts in my name and forged signatures (The signature wasn't even my name) for services that were almost double what I was told.

After hundreds of calls and emails my account is still open with a small balance owing. I get phone calls and emails from them every month because I "owe" them.

This has been going on since March 2019. It's now September 2019 and I'm still calling them monthly begging for my account to be closed.

SERVICE SPEED: 9/10

1. INSTALLATION PROCESS: 1/5 (set-up date moved at least 3 times)
2. INSTALLATION CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3.5/5 (very flexible)
3. ACCOMMODATIONS: 4/5-3.1 they were willing to provide a dry-loop--internet-only (look it up) 3.2 service speed 50 Mbps "Unlimited Internet 25"
4. SERVICE SPEED: 9/10
CONCLUSION: If you can survive the Installation Process (negotiate on the inconvenience), you will be quite pleased.NB: we're on Bell Fibre Optic lines in our area that Primus rents.

PRIMUS SUCKS

Primus sucks, Its garbage, We get Primus, two Networks shows up and only one works, the one that does work turns off like 5 times a week and it's Horrible.
It's so slow too, Not good for multiple devices or your device will crash and DON'T DOWNLOAD, It has crashed all of the devices linked to Primus, 2.52 Mbps Download, and 5.03 Mbps Upload

Primus was established in 1997, is HQ in Toronto, ON. Primus provides long distance, VoIP, Internet and POTS for residential and business use.

Primus was bought by York Capital Management in July of 2013. In the United States Primus operates under the brand name Lingo.  Primus went thru a major business transformation, which saw named a new CEO in January of 2014.

Primus Home Internet Plans are all unlimited and offer a good array of variety. Though Primus being a close mimic to Bell or Rogers Home Internet plans, does suffer from the same high monthly fees and contract traps. Primus does offer a 2-year guarantee of reduced pricing. After the 2 year term prices go up $10 / month. There is no option to use an aftermarket modem, so you'll have to get it from Primus, either buy or rental There is also a $59.95 one time installation fee.

Below we detail all of Primus Home Internet plans available in Ontario.

DSL:

Primus applies Performance Management to the network, sometimes known as traffic shaping, as per Primus statements this is active at all times and shall be transparent to the end user. Though the priority is supposed to kick-in when congestion is detected this could impact the user experience, more so when multiple devices in one home are using the internet connection.

In all Primus, the Home Internet offers unlimited access, packed with extra protection (antivirus & antispam) but it looks expensive when compared to Altima, Gems or CIK Telecom for example. More so when looking at these added fees. Also, note it does not support using other than their own branded modems.
