Ooma, the maker behind the Telo all-in-one solution is making a move into the small –business territory. Last January, during CES in Las Vegas Ooma presented Ooma Office. The service is catered to small enterprises looking for plug & play solutions; those businesses that have from 1 to 10 employees. Ooma’s Office can grow up to 5 phone extensions and up to 15 virtual lines.

To the standard calling features from the Telio some of the Office exclusives are:
• Virtual receptionist
• Modes for business and after hours
• Extension dialing
• Voicemail
• Call transfer
• Ring groups
• Music on hold
• Conference Bridge

In the US the MRSP for the Ooma Office starter pack is $249.99 (includes the ATA and Ooma Link for extensions) The difference with the Telio is that this service costs a monthly $19.99 per line. This solution is supposed to work with all standard phones and most fax systems (if these are still being bought!)

We shall see what the market reaction is; while is cheaper than some of the offers in the market and certainly, Ooma has built a reputation for having very good a plug & play ATA devices there are other services out there that have similar monthly cost or even lower (RingCentral and Versature CloudPBX to name a couple)

Ooma is scheduled to release Ooma Office late this Spring.
