Feeling satisfied Satisfied Rating 👍

Fantastic service at a cheap price.

I was on the $47.99/mo business package with the 200GB usage limit.

I regularly exceeded my usage limit (around 300-500GB monthly according to their technical support) but they have only enforced the speed slow down for me twice.

Their tech support informed me the usage limit only applies during the summer break when all the students come home from school.

Speeds are always the full 6/1 on speedtest.net.

Whoever wrote the summary of Ontario High Speed defiantly did not have the service or even look at their website.

Before Ontario High Speed I had two providers. Williams Communications and Xplornet Satellite.

Ontario High Speed was the only provider that serviced my area that I was able to use my work VPN on enabling me to work from home.

Ontario High Speed cost me half as much as their competitors and delivers me better service.

In the 2 years ive been a customer there has been two outages but they were pretty quick to fix them.

In October 2016, Vianet.ca acquired their company.

The service is still just as good, and they allowed me to keep my ip block.

I wanted a public address to my router so they gave me 5 public address's I could use.

Ontario High Speed is part of Vianet's strategy to reach customers. Vianet is a Telecommunications provider serving a growing number of communities in Ontario. Immediately we feel the domain’s name leads to a bit of false advertising. You type one thing and land in somewhere else via a redirect. Not false advertising but deceiving.

But let’s look beyond the name. In our review of Vianet, we will look at the services offered and see if they compare with Gonevoip’s top three internet service providers.

Vianet offers five internet broadband packages. They are the High-Speed Fibre, High-Speed Cable, High-Speed DSL, High-Speed Wireless and the good old Dialup internet.

The starter High-Speed Cable package checks in at $59.95 per month and include download speeds of up to 15 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 2 Mbps. The monthly data usage is unlimited. There is a one time fee of $75, oddly called "Ordering Fee", assume that is the same as Setup  Fee elsewhere.

The starter High-Speed Fibre package kicks in at $99.95 per month, with a blistering fast 100mbps download speeds with an increased upload speed of 50 Mbps. The monthly data usage is unlimited as well. Similar Ordering fee of $75 as for Cable, with an option to have a WiFi Router Rental for $8.95 per month.

Finally, we review, the High-Speed DSL package at $42.99 is the cheapest from VIanet's broadband options, landbased. The download speed is modest 6 Mbps and the upload speed is 0.8 Mbps. There is also an unlimited monthly usage.

If speed is what you are after, clearly the best option from Vianet is the High-Speed Fibre packages.  You will have to pay more than with the High-Speed Cable but you'll get everything 3x as fast! The speeds for High-Speed DSL are rather slow for today's standards, but with unlimited data, usage is something to consider if nothing else is available. If usage is light or in remote areas then you can look at the High-Speed Wireless options.

Luckily, they state there are no overage charges as all packages are unlimited. For some reason, the High-Speed DSL has a one time  "Ordering Processing Fee" of $95, which makes it the most expensive Setup related Fee.

It is never fun to see the phrase “All speeds listed are intended as an estimate only. Individual customer experiences may vary.” written in a contract but it actually shows up in numerous contracts. Also will be good if prices are shown after taxes and all fees, without having to go over the shopping cart experience.

One positive is there are no yearly contracts, but rather a monthly contract. If you want to terminate, you must give Vianet five business days’ notice prior to the monthly renewal date.

In our review of Vianet, we are very encouraged with the three High-Speed packages we reviewed. It's all good to have speed and unlimited usage but pricing has to be competitive as well. Vianet cheapest DSL package is reasonable if not a bit overpriced, consider it offers little in speed and while is unlimited usage the $95 Ordering Fee seems like an unnecessary tax. Companies such as Gonevoip’s top three internet service providers may provide as quick or quicker speeds, unlimited data usage amounts and certainly more reasonable prices.
